Coaching Course Requirements
Before commencing a coaching course and in order to receive your coach education materials in time, you should register with British Fencing by completing a Coach Development Scheme – Application & Registration form (see attachment). and sending this, together with a cheque for £40 (payable to Biriths Fencing) to the address on the form.

This fee covers

  • your coach education manual,
  • a blank BF CRB form,
  • a textbook and
  • the assessment fee of £15
  • postage

This registration fee is in addition to any course fee charged by the Coach Educator unless the course fee specifically includes this charge (check with your coach educator). Also, if you are taking an assessment for more than 1 weapon, there is an additional charge of £15 per level per weapon (which can be paid for on the assessment day). Please also note that the BF membership fee is quite separate to this coach registration fee.

Alternatively, if you are seeking coach education but have not sourced a suitable programme, you may still register using the same application form and sending the fee as detailed. The materials will be forwarded to you and we will alert your nearest coach educator and/or alert you as and when courses are notified to us.

Once the course has been completed, in order to receive your coaching certificate and to be registered on the EF Coach Database,  you must send copies (NOT originals) of

  • Your current CRB Enhanced Disclosure certificate,
  • An attendance certificate from a Safeguarding and Protecting Children seminar and
  • First Aid certificate (or download and complete the attached First Aid Declaration) and email or post to England Fencing HQ.
  • Your BF membership card
