Congratulations to the England Commonwealth senior team who won the Wilkinson Sword trophy for overall best performance at the 2010 Melbourne, ahead of Australia, Scotland and Singapore and 10 other commonwealth nations.

With 6 golds, 4 silvers and 5 bronze medals across the 12 disciplines, England fencers dominated the event, particularly in the team section, taking 4 of 6 team golds, plus a silver.

The veteran fencers added to the medal tally in their events, with veteran sabreurs doing particularly well.
