Notice to all England Fencing Registered Coaches

Helping us to help you...

Coaches who meet all the England Fencing registration criteria are placed on the EF Coaching Register. If Local Authorities, County and School Sport Partnerships, youth organisations or commercial companies etc wish to check the credentials of a coach, they approach the national governing body (NGB). As NGB for fencing in England, EF can only verify the bona fides of coaches whose names appear on this register and whose documentation is current.

To keep your coach registration valid it is your responsibility to ensure that you remain a member of the BFA and all your certificates are up to date. The CRB Enhanced Disclosure certificate, First Aid certificate (or signed EF First Aid Policy Declaration), Safeguarding & Protecting Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults certificates are only valid with EF for 3 years from date of issue. Coaching certificates require revalidation every 5 years.

As a service to registered coaches and as far as we can, EF will monitor currency and validity of certification and send out reminders to individual coaches when documentation needs renewing or updating. The simple courtesy of a reply to let our administrator know when to expect a copy of the required paperwork is enough for your name to remain on the register even if your documentation is temporarily out of currency. Please send copies of all renewed/updated certificates to the EF office so that we can keep our records current and so that you remain registered.

If you want information about upcoming courses in child protection or first aid they are advertised on our website under Coaching – Coach Development & Training – Safeguarding & Protecting Children and/or First Aid or they may be included under individual coaching courses on our website. Alternatively you can approach your County Sports Partnership or Borough Sports Development Department.
